ZGS Communications, an Hispanic-owned media company, announced the launch of a scholarship and paid internship project in partnership with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute.
The CHCI-ZGS Communications Scholar Intern program is designed to offer qualifying Latino students a real-world work experience in a multimedia environment, while providing monetary compensation and scholarship funds to help students with the financial burdens of post-secondary education.
In its first year, the program will recruit four candidates to be the recipients of a $2,500 scholarship along with a six-week paid internship at one of ZGS’s Telemundo affiliates in Orlando and Tampa or its Web portal, holaciuded.
Based on the selected students’ majors and preferences, students will work in broadcast engineering, marketing, news or video production.
“The CHCI-ZGS Scholar Intern program is both an investment in our future, and a very tangible opportunity for students to gain practical experience in their chosen field,” said Ronald J. Gordon, ZGS Communications’ CEO.
Applications for the CHCI-ZGS Communications Scholar Intern program are available now at apply.chci.org. The deadline to apply is Jan. 22, 2016.
