U.S. Marines will be stationed outside the KWQC studios all day today.
But it’s all for a good cause: Toys for Tots.
KWQC, the Media General NBC affiliate serving the Quad Cities market (Davenport and Bettendorf, Iowa, and Rock Island and Moline, Ill.), and the U.S. Marines will be on hand outside the station’s studios all day as residents drive up and drop off toys for less fortunate children who may otherwise go without gifts this Christmas.
Toys for Tots was started by the U.S. Marines in 1947 and the train logo was designed by none other than Walt Disney.
The U.S Marine Corp Reserves asks for new, unwrapped toys preferably around the $10 or above price range.
