Apparently, Pittsburgh’s gone to the dogs.
In a recent regional survey, 72% of Pittsburgh pet owners said they own a dog.
WTAE, Hearst’s ABC affiliate there, examines the city’s love affair with its furry friends tonight at 8 p.m. on Chronicle: Dog Stories.
Chronicle host Sally Wiggin and WTAE anchor Mike Clark will examine why pets really make us so happy.
They’ll follow one puppy’s journey from shelter dog to joyful greeter at a trendy downtown hotel.
Viewers will go inside the training process that turns loveable pets into service animals and brave partners for U.S. Marines and police officers.
Chronicle: Dog Stories also digs into the centuries of shared evolution of dogs and humans.
And, viewers will learn how to answer the big question: Should I get a dog?
“Every day, we see dogs transform the lives of dog lovers and non-dog lovers alike,” said Wiggin. “I hope Pittsburgh is as inspired by these stories as I am to tell them.”
