Ten-year-old Charlie Pitner collected more than 1,000 coats to give away this year in his fourth annual coat drive. That means Charlie started doing this when he was 6 years old.
Charlie Pitner is the son of Jeff Pitner, the creative services director of KAMC and KLBK, the ABC and CBS affiliates in Lubbock, Texas, owned by Nexstar.
Jeff Pitner was featured in an earlier Market Share column article from the 2014 PromaxBDA Station Summit session, “Do More with Less.”
I’ve been friends with Jeff since I was VP of marketing for Nexstar, and so when I saw this post about his son, Charlie, on his Facebook page, I had to share it.
By the way, Lubbock is in the crosshairs of a major snow storm that’s expected to dump up to 14 inches of snow there.
I can think of a 1,000 people who are glad they have a warm coat with that kind of weather on the way.
Congrats to Charlie and his parents, Jeff and Christy Pitner.
