KGW, Tegna’s NBC affiliate in Portland, Ore., is looking to collect enough food and cash to provide 800,000 pounds of food for area residents throughout Oregon and southwest Washington.
The KGW Great Food Drive, in its 13th year, is a major public service campaign.
Throughout the month, KGW, Tillamook Cheese, U.S. Bank and local Toyota Dealers will strive to help supply the Oregon Food Bank Network.
Food will be distributed to its network of 21 regional food banks and more than 950 hunger relief agencies across Oregon and Clark County, Washington.
“Unfortunately, hunger is a persistent problem in our community,” said DJ Wilson, KGW’s general manager.
“As the cost of living has increased, many working families are still struggling to feed their children. We appreciate the ongoing commitment from our corporate partners who make this a top initiative in their community work.”
