Fabian Carrillo is a news photographer for WSVN, the Sunbeam Fox affiliate in Miami.
He was on assignment in Cuba the past week or so along with 2 other photogs and 3 reporter/anchors sent by WSVN to cover President Obama’s historic visit to the island, the first sitting president to visit Cuba since 1928.
Carrillo and I are Facebook friends, having worked together at WINK in the 90s. I was following his posts and thought his observations might make a good story.
Unfortunately, cell phone coverage on the island is iffy and his busy shooting schedule made communication with Carrillo a problem.
So I asked if Carrillo if we could use his Facebook posts and some of his pictures and share them on Market Share. By the way, Carrillo’s wife, Kelly, is the assistant news director at WSVN.
So here are some of his posts and examples of WSVN’s news coverage from the past week from Cuba.
