WHO, Tribune’s NBC affiliate in Des Moines, Iowa, was honored this past weekend by the Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association with 16 awards, 10 for first place in the Medium Market-Television category.
The Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association represents Minnesota, Wisconsin, the Dakotas, Iowa and Nebraska.
Their awards are known as Eric Sevareid Awards after the North Dakota-born and University of Minnesota-educated journalist who was a correspondent for CBS Radio and Television.
“Their hard work and dedication to excellence continues to be recognized not only by our incredible viewers but also by their peers,” said Rod Peterson, WHO’s news director.
“I am proud to work with them every day.”
