For many local businesses in markets all across the country, advertising on their local TV station means business.
Market Share has shared stories about how TV stations write, produce and edit local commercials for clients in their markets like Detroit, Louisville and West Palm Beach, and will continue to actively seek and share more sales success stories.
At WCTV, Gray’s CBS affiliate in Tallahassee, Fla., creative is key.
“The importance of creative is definitely under-reported,” said Heather Peeples, WCTV’s general manager. “The benefit to the station is that with impactful creative, we can truly help advertisers grow their business and continue to put their trust in WCTV and our team.”
“Being a medium-size market, we produce a lot of local commercials,” said Michael Karmanos, WCTV’s creative services director.
Karmanos mentions a local nursery that started advertising on WCTV about two years ago.
“They tell us all the time about the great comments they get about their spots.”
“Obviously we want to control the creative so that we can insure that we can endorse the effectiveness of the ad,” said Peeples, “and guide our clients in creating a commercial that we know will have the expected impact.”
Below is an example of the commercial for the local nursery and a few spots WCTV has done in the last month or two.
