It appears Flint, Mich., isn’t the only place in America with questionable drinking water.
In the village of Chatham, just south of the Illinois state capital in Springfield, and a half hour from the town of Sweet Water, residents there say the water’s so bad, they won’t let their pets drink it.
Residents say the problems started when Chatham changed its water supplier.
Since then, the water has been corroding plumbing, causing rashes and people to lose their hair. Most have turned to bottled water.
“How do I take a gallon of water and bathe in it?,” asked one resident.
In this investigative piece from WAND, Block Communications’ NBC affiliate in Decatur, the station reveals how the problem is forcing some residents to pack up and move.
