I happened to be a captive audience in my car the other day trying to find something to listen to on the radio.
As I’m clicking through the choices, I hear a man in a very stentorian tone announce, “And now, the President of the United States of America.”
I had tuned into the National Public Radio’s live coverage of the memorial to the five police officers killed in Dallas, and it was President Obama’s turn to speak.
It was quite a stirring address to us citizens of this country.
Former President George W. Bush also spoke and his remarks were eloquent and poignant as well.
Here is a video of the memorial. It’s two-and-a-half-hours long.
I know, that’s quite a commitment but you can scroll through to around 1:27:00 to see former President George W. Bush speak; President Obama speaks around 1:42:00.
