KDAF, Tribune’s CW affiliate in Dallas, has a catchy new song created by Stephen Arnold Music that drives a new promo campaign, Express Yourself.
Express Yourself encourages viewers to interact with the station by uploading and sharing fresh user-generated content. In others words, express yourself.
“We’ve had the words and logo ‘Express Yourself’ on air since January,” said Jamie Aitken, KDAF’s general manager.
“But without a sonic brand behind it, it’s very two-dimensional. Sound is what drives people.”
Stephen Arnold Music’s Express Yourself combines new-school funk with old-school Motown, with plenty of claps and whistles to get the audience fired up.
The lyrics say it all: “Don’t hide what’s inside cuz it’s time that you/Express yourself.”
“We wanted a track that was timeless, so it was critical that we collaborate with Stephen Arnold Music to get it done right,” said Roger Vertrees, KDAF’s creative services director.
“They created an infectious original song that’s getting everyone involved.”
