You’ve seen them. Maybe you’ve wanted to give them some money, but weren’t sure: are they really homeless and down on their luck or is it something else?
And what about those who claim to be collecting for charities? Is that legit? Does your contribution ever end up in the right hands?
The I-Team Investigators at WJAR wondered the same thing, so they set out to follow some panhandlers to see who they really are.
Are they truly representing the charities they say they are, or are they playing on your good will and pocketing those buckets of cash?

WJAR, Sinclair’s NBC affiliate in Providence, R.I., aired a series of investigative reports yesterday that raised serious questions about some panhandlers who claim to be down on their luck or collecting for charities.
