Aah, that new car smell can be so intoxicating. It’s too bad it can’t be delivered through your television.
But everything else about test driving a brand new 2017 model is being shown in an innovative new web series from WFIE, Raycom’s NBC affiliate in Evansville, Ind.
Try This Drive shows folks taking test drives of 2017 models to “get honest feedback from drivers about why they would buy the automobile,” according to a statement found on the web page.
What a great idea! Something new and different! Getting people to test drive new cars is what car dealers want. Put them behind the wheel, have them drive around, try the new features. Viewers can live vicariously through the experience without the fear of having an aggressive salesperson sitting next to them.
The campaign promises 27 episodes.
A website has been set up for volunteers to sign up to test drive and for potential new car buyers to apply for a loan.
How successful is the Try This Drive campaign so far? Are car dealers seeing more traffic due to the campaign? How many viewers are watching the videos?
