NBC and Telemundo-owned stations in Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and the Rio Grande Valley took home a total of 51 Emmy Awards at the The Lone Star Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences annual gala held on Oct. 15 in Fort Worth.
“I applaud our journalists and our news teams for their unwavering commitment to the communities they serve, and for delivering their local news with utmost integrity,” said Valari Staab, NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations president.
KXTX, Telemundo 39 in Dallas/Ft. Worth won 21 awards, including the coveted News Excellence honor.
KXAS, the Dallas NBC affiliate, received 13 awards, including best Newscast – Morning/Daytime Newscast, an honor that KXTX also received. Both stations also won the Texas Heritage award.
KTMD. Telemundo Houston, left with 13 Lone Star Emmy’s, including an award for having the best Newscast – Evening in the large market category.
KTLM, Telemundo 40 Rio Grande Valley, won four awards, including the Community Service award that recognized the station’s financial literacy community awareness campaign.
