WJXT, Graham Media’s independent station Jacksonville, Fla., was the market’s most watched TV station on election night, according to a statement from the station.
WJXT’s coverage was continuous from 7 o’clock Tuesday night until 3:30 Wednesday morning.
“We know all stories are local stories,” said Bob Ellis, WJXT’s general manager. “With no network affiliation, covering the presidential election entirely with our local staff reaffirms that point. I’m fiercely proud that we served our viewers [with] what they wanted and helped them understand how this election affects Northeast Florida.”
This is the third straight presidential election that WJXT has been No. 1 in the ratings, the station said.
