San Angelo, Texas is market No. 196, although it feels much bigger when you’re there, as I’ve been.
There are 56,000 households and 135,000 people, according to a note from Justin Riggan, general manager of KIDY, Tegna’s Fox affiliate there.
But the station out-punted its coverage recently with a Facebook video post about an area high school football game.
“We saw the opportunity with a HUGE football game and put some excellent storytelling together. Less than 24 hours and it had reached over 205,000 people, more than 87,000 views, more than 1,150 comments, and over 2,100 ‘likes,” Riggan reports.
