After the traditional local TV ratings periods in May, November and February, I get press releases from stations about their news performances.
I expect that.
And if you’ve sent me one, you probably got a boilerplate response explaining how I like to deal with them.
But now it seems I’m getting more and more releases about ratings numbers in untraditional months, like March.
I guess it’s a 365, 24/7 mentality these days.
Here’s a POP promo from WCVB, Hearst’s ABC affiliate in Boston, Hearst, that tells us everything we need to know about how it performed in March. Bold with strong clear graphics, it sets the record straight in no uncertain terms.
There is a disclaimer in parts that reads, NSI March 2017 P2+.
