I always considered the May ratings period for TV stations as the most important because the rates set by the sales department based on May last about six months.
That was back in the diary days of Nielsen, so I’m not sure if that still applies in today’s world of multiple daily measurement companies.
However, May is still important and stations do create special tune-in promos for their news special reports.
