WTTG, the Fox O&O in Washington, seems to be on a roll.
“Over the last three-, five- and seven-month periods, almost all of our newscasts have grown to No. 1 in target demos,” said a rep from Fox.
WTTG finished first in the morning news, and at 5, 10 and 11 p.m., according to a statement from the station.
“We have done well, we believe, for a variety of reasons,” said Patrick Paolini, WTTG’s general manager.
“The content in our newscasts is engaging and what people want. Our talent is authentic. We produce stories with the goal of being ‘shareable’.”
“Our focus on social engagement, I believe has had a cumulative positive impact on our current growth and success,” said Paolini.
“We also have challenged the status quo on reporting and delivering news. Our promotions are different. They focus on some of the top engaging content we covered the day prior, rather than topicals.”
