If you lived in Miami in 1957 and were lucky enough to have a television set, you’d have been able to watch Ed Sullivan, Lucy, Jack Benny, George Burns, and Milton Berle as well as Face the Nation and Meet the Press as well as many other now iconic TV programs.
WPLG, the ABC affiliate in Miami owned by Berkshire Hathaway, is celebrating its 60th birthday, having signed on the air on Aug. 2, 1957.
“We want to thank South Floridians for inviting us into their homes every day for the past six decades and we look forward to being here for them for the next 60 years and beyond”, said Bert Medina, WPLG’s president.
