WROC Earns Two New York Emmy Awards

The station was recognized in the Medium/Small (50+) category for Best Evening Newscast, and Adam Chodak was also recognized in the Commentary/Editorial category as the Best Talent.

WROC, Nexstar’s CBS affiliate in Rochester, N.Y., earned two 2021 Emmy Awards from The New York chapter of The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

The station was recognized in the Medium/Small (50+) category for Best Evening Newscast for its News 8 at 6pm from Sept. 2, 2020.

Adam Chodak, WROC’s managing editor and anchor, was also recognized in the Commentary/Editorial category as the best talent.

The 64th Annual New York Emmy Awards were announced on Oct. 30.

WNJU Telemundo 47 earned 21 awards while WABC and WPIX earned 17 New York Emmys.

WABC earned the News and Overall Excellence Emmy. WNBC earned an Emmy in the Evening Newscast Larger Market category.
