WCAV, Lockwood’s CBS affiliate in Charlottesville, Va., will debut Dialogue, a half-hour special, on Saturday, April 30, at 7 p.m.
Dialogue is a new venue for in-depth local interviews and conversations about important community topics.
Dialogue will consist of long-form interviews with three area leaders who are all new in their positions: Charlottesville Mayor Lloyd Snook, interim-city manager Michael C. Rogers and Charlottesville Superintendent Dr. Royal Gurley.
The interviews focus on the theme of moving forward as the city deals with leadership changes and the continuing COVID pandemic.
“The Charlottesville community is highly engaged in civic issues, and we felt this was a unique way to dig deeper into those topics,” says Mark Kurtz, WCAV’S GM. “We hope to make Dialogue a permanent part of CBS19 and foster conversations that move the region forward.”
WCAV anchors Ric Young, Ashley Brooks and Carly Haynes all contributed reporting for the show and host the program.
“Dialogue is a great opportunity to explore stories and themes indepth and really help people get a full understanding of the most important issues in Central Virginia,” says Dan Schutte, WCAV’S news director.
Dialogue will be a semi-regular feature on CBS19 with future installments coming later in the year.
