The clothing drive resulted in over 4,000 items of clothing collected, a total a Cara Collective official described as “a monumental feat!”
WCIU, Chicago’s CW26 and MeTV-FM, both owned by Weigel Broadcasting, partnered with CD One Price Cleaners for its annual clothing drive benefiting Chicago nonprofit Cara Collective.
In March, CW26 and MeTV-FM encouraged viewers and listeners to drop off “gently-used” interview attire, including skirts, pantsuits, dress pants, blouses, jackets, blazers and dresses to their local CD One Price Cleaners.
The cleaners cleaned, pressed and delivered the donations to Cara Collective, which provides job training and access to quality employment for job seekers in Chicago and beyond.
The stations are proud to have been a part of this endeavor since 2020.
