The 2021 WESH 2 Share Your Christmas campaign saw an increase in food donated as well as monetary donations, as the Central Florida community recognizes many families are still struggling to recover from the pandemic and economic toll it took on our tourism-based economy.
WESH and WKCF, Hearst’s NBC and CW affiliates in Orlando, Fla., joined with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida for the 36th annual WESH 2 Share Your Christmas food drive during the week of Dec. 6.
More than $602,000 was raised, and between the money raised and food donations, the campaign was enough to provide nearly 2.5 million meals for the Central Florida Community.
“We can’t thank our viewers enough for donating food and making contributions so families throughout Central Florida can enjoy a holiday meal,” says John Soapes, WESH GM.
