WAVY, Nexstar’s NBC affiliate serving Hampton Roads, Va., continues its annual community project, 10 On Your Side Coats for Families drive. According to the station, WAVY has been helping those in need by collecting coats for people of all ages and sizes for more than three decades.
The coldest temperature ever recorded in the state of Virginia was -30 degrees back in 1985 at Mountain Lake.
In the Hampton Roads area, the coldest temp was -2 degrees.
Not the kind of weather you’d like to be in without a good coat.

According to the station, WAVY has been helping those in need by collecting coats for people of all ages and sizes for more than three decades.

Coats for Families is fueled by the warm hearts of 10 On Your Side’s long-time partners, Albano Cleaners and Harrison’s by Apple Moving.
Each week, Harrison’s collects coats from 10 On Your Side collection sponsors while Albano Cleaners ensures that any gently used coats are cleaned.
