TVNewsCheck’s Programming Everywhere event addresses the programming challenges local TV stations face to fill hours of openings in their schedule with content. TV marketers on site will “get stimulated with lots of concrete ideas to bring back and implement at their stations,” says Michael Depp, TVNewsCheck editor and a moderator at the conference.
The list of presenters and speakers at Programming Everywhere reads like a who’s who of the top broadcasting executives in America.

“We have never put together this kind of combination of speakers before and I have never seen any other event that has,” says Michael Depp, TVNewsCheck editor and a moderator at the conference.
Programming Everywhere is an all-day TVNewsCheck conference presented on the eve of the NAB Show on Sunday, April 16, in Las Vegas.
Presidents, CEOs, SVPs and COOs of the broadcast world will be on hand demonstrating the changes unfolding around programming on traditional TV platforms and in the emerging streaming markets right now and down the line.
TV station group senior executives along with programming, news and marketing leaders, syndicated programming executives and streaming media and technology leaders will gather to talk about the evolution of broadcasting, transforming television news and strategies for creating a content everywhere business.
Here’s Sarah Katt, SVP of programming at The Hill with a preview of how The Hill developed its Fast Channel using its own videos in collaboration with appropriate news content from the Nexstar stations.

The diversity of speakers who represent different positions at their companies and different facets of the industry in general is what makes this event interesting, Depp says.
The event addresses the programming challenges local TV stations face to fill hours of open vacancies in their schedule with content.
“We did this to help broadcasters think through the options that are in front of them and present to them some of the most creative, bold and out-of-the-box thinking about programming across various genres and platforms,” Depp says.
Broadcast group VPs of marketing and local station creative services directors may already see signs of programming changes that directly influence their marketing now.
Those attending Programming Everywhere will be able to go home and develop marketing plans that address the here and now and plan for what’s coming down the road.
“These are all things that are built around core newscasts,” Depp says. But are closely tied to it.
Here’s Jamie Gray, managing editor for InvestigateTV at Gray Television, with a preview of her session on refreshing the news franchise.
Depp says TV marketers in attendance will get a bead on the trends percolating in new kinds of program development.
“What their competitors are developing, what people are developing outside of that conventional broadcast space,” he says.
The event will showcase examples with video of how certain broadcast brands are reimagining and reinventing themselves as multiplatform entities, Depp says.
“We are convening some of the best examples of that currently in the industry,” he adds.
“Marketers should see firsthand who is on the vanguard in each of these areas,” Depp says. “They should see what work is being done by their competitors, the bar that’s being set and where the best marketing is.”
TV marketers on site for the event will see lots of videos “coming from a very broad array of directions that should get them very stimulated with lots of concrete ideas to bring back and implement at their stations,” Depp says.
“There is no substitution for being in a room with very smart people who are pushing at the boundaries of their forms, sharing their work,” he says.
