The WTAE/Trib news partnership brings together two of Pittsburgh’s news brands to enable journalism on issues that matter to the region.
The Trib is a multiplatform news organization that operates TribLIVE.com and prints two daily editions of the Tribune-Review, the Westmoreland and Valley News Dispatch editions. Trib Total Media also operates TribLIVE Local, which includes dozens of hyper-local websites focused on communities in Western Pennsylvania. The Trib prints 11 weeklies and five monthlies.
“Now more than ever, news consumers want to know they can trust that the news they are receiving is accurate,” says Jim Parsons, WTAE’s news director. “For decades, viewers and readers throughout Western Pennsylvania have trusted the hard-working journalists at WTAE Channel 4 and TribLive to get the facts right in telling compelling stories about the people and issues in their neighborhoods. I am thrilled that we will be pooling the resources of our two newsrooms to make those connections with readers and viewers even stronger.”
“WTAE Channel 4 and TribLIVE.com understand trustworthy neighborhood news is paramount to our viewers and readers,” says Charles W. Wolfertz III, WTAE’s GM. “Western PA is a wonderful tapestry of townships, boroughs, and communities. This partnership ensures our unwavering commitment to reporting on impactful local stories.”
