This year’s WRAL Coats For The Children campaign, the 35th, shattered all previous records with an unprecedented number of donations that includes more than 3000 coats collected and over $195,000 donated in support of Salvation Army.

The funds raised through the campaign will be instrumental in providing essential winter clothing and other necessities to vulnerable individuals and families across the region.
“We are thrilled to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Coats For The Children with such incredible enthusiasm from our community,” says Don Ursich, WRAL’s production manager. “The record-breaking number of donations reflects the warmth and kindness that defines who we are as a community, and we couldn’t be prouder to be part of this amazing journey.”
The more than 3,000 coats collected will be distributed not only to those reaching out to the Salvation Army but through local partnerships and organizations, ensuring that those in need receive the warmth and comfort they deserve during the colder months.
“The support this year was just amazing all across the viewing area,” says Major Charles Whiten, Salvation Army of Wake and Lee Counties. “There’s just a lot of generosity being poured out on families and coming alongside those in crisis. I think it’s a blessing to everyone.”
WRAL extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who played a role in making this initiative a resounding success.
