Angela An has been promoted at WBNS, Tegna’s CBS affiliate in Columbus, Ohio, to co-anchor the station’s 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. newscasts starting today, March 4.
An moves to the evening news from serving as coanchor on WBNS morning news, Wake Up CBUS.
“Angela’s knowledge of Columbus, insight and expertise shine through in her reporting and storytelling, providing audiences with valuable information, context and analysis,” says Rick Rogala, WBNS general manager. “She also understands the human element behind the headlines and strives to give voice to those whose stories might otherwise go unheard.”
Since joining WBNS in 2000, An has been at the forefront of covering stories that impact the Columbus community. In 2006, An helped launch CrimeTracker 10 which focuses on crime trends in neighborhoods and how to keep you and your family safe. During the Covid-19 pandemic, An spearheaded 10TV’s Gratitude Project and NextDoor partnership to share positive stories of people doing good. Outside of covering the news, you will find An pursuing her passion for community service as a volunteer for JDRF, Komen Columbus, Columbus Fashion Week, Canine Companions, and several others.
“I’ve loved sharing the news with our morning viewers every day for as long as I can remember and helping them start their day with a smile,” says An. “This is a big change for me and my family that’s really exciting and I’m looking forward to enjoying a different part of the day in a new way. It’ll be great to see our loyal morning viewers join me and my co-anchors Yolanda and Andrew each evening.”
