Karen Vigurs-Stack is the new creative services director for WSPA, Nexstar’s CBS affiliate licensed to Spartanburg, S.C.
Karen Vigurs-Stack is the new creative services director for WSPA, Nexstar’s CBS serving the tri-markets of Greenville-Spartanburg, S.C., and Ashville, N.C., with a total population of more than a million.
Vigurs-Stack’s first day was Monday, Feb. 12. She says she did some brand consulting with the station previously and got to know Kenny Lawrence, the station’s GM, and Kyle Brinkman, the news director, as well as the news team.
“There’s lots of potential for growth,” she says.
Vigurs-Stack says in the first 30 days she intends to mostly listen and find out what everyone in her staff does and what they do well.
“We’re excited to have Karen on board,” Lawrence says. “To have someone with her experience is a great addition to our management staff. We have a great product and a great news team, and now the right person to lead our marketing team.”
Vigurs-Stack was the marketing and branding consultant for 602 Communications, whose clients include major network news and local TV news operations. Prior to that Vigurs-Stack was the marketing and creative services director for stations in Boston and Dallas.
“In terms of personal goals, I like to build relationships and foster those relationships within the station so they can help me meet those goals,” Vigurs-Stack says.
