KCRA and WYFF, Hearst’s NBC affiliates in Sacramento, Calif., Greenville, S.C., held telethons this week in their respective markets to benefit local food banks.

A recent study shows South Carolina is one of the deadliest states for women – ranking 6^th in the nation for women killed by men. “This issue has devastated so many South Carolina families,” said Bruce Barkley, WYFF’s news director. “We want to continue to tell the stories of these courageous survivors and work to find ways to stop the violence.”
