“Polamalu, Faneca, Shell, Nunn and Cowher — these men held the standard for what it means to be a Pittsburgh Steeler,” says Charles W. Wolfertz III, WTAE’s GM.
“Andrew, Ryan and Guy Junker started working on this project more than a year ago, before the pandemic struck,” says Jim Parsons, WTAE’s news director.
“We had interviews with Cowher and Shell lined up, then everything stopped, and we had to put it on hold. We might have canceled the whole thing — but, when the 2021 Hall of Fame class included Alan Faneca and Bill Nunn, we doubled down on our efforts. It’s all part of a very special hour of television that no Steelers fan will want to miss.”
Join host Andrew Stockey as he takes viewers to San Diego for a sit-down with all-time great Troy Polamalu. The former defensive star hilariously explains what it’s like to raise “yinzers” and reveals whether his abrupt retirement was his idea.
Reporter Ryan Recker catches up with Super Bowl-winning coach Bill Cowher in New York City’s Central Park. Viewers will see the path an undrafted Cowher took and why he credits his “Billy from Crafton” upbringing for his Super Bowl wins.
