In a Market Share post from February 2017, I wrote about the show’s fifth anniversary and what the station was doing right to make the show a success.
Now it’s 10 years, more than 2,500 shows, and tens of thousands of local segments.
Why does WDTN continue to do an hour-long lifestyle show about Dayton?
“The answer is simple,” says Jason Doyle, WDTN’s creative services director. “To showcase all the great things happening around the Dayton region every single weekday.”
Doyle says Living Dayton is second in the ratings its time period.
“Like most lifestyle shows across the country, sales opportunities play a strong role in the success of these shows — and we’re lucky to have a number of longstanding and new clients who utilize their opportunities on Living Dayton to showcase their brands,” Doyle says.
“The passion the Living Dayton team has to showcase what’s great about our community is so contagious,” says Joe Abouzeid, WDTN’s general manager.
“There have been local lifestyle shows that have come and gone across the country but celebrating 10 years on the air is a testament to the hard work of those, past and present, who’ve made this such a special show.”
Jeffrey Mims, Dayton’s mayor, proclaimed Feb. 6 Living Dayton Day in the city.
WGHP, Fox8, Nexstar’s Fox affiliate serving the Greensboro/High-Point/Winston-Salem markets in North Carolina, is searching for a Morning News Anchor, Weekend Assignment Editor and a News Producer. According to U. S. News & World Report, Greensboro is part of the Piedmont Triad (which also includes Winston-Salem and High Point) and is nicknamed the “Gate City” with good reason: It’s a short jaunt to and from the major cities in North Carolina. Locals can spend a day in the Blue Ridge Mountains to the west or head east for a beach weekend. There is no shortage of arts, entertainment, recreation, shopping and restaurants to keep locals busy. Greensboro is home to a large hospital, public parks and gardens. A range of neighborhoods offers a diverse array of homes to satisfy different tastes, and a strong sense of community makes North Carolina’s third-largest metro area feel like a small town where the residents are neighborly.
