“WTAE knows there’s football and then there’s Monday night football in Pittsburgh,” says Charles W. Wolfertz III, WTAE’s GM. WTAE, Hearst’s ABC affiliate, is celebrating its 65th anniversary, and the station came up with a great idea to honor its commitment to the community.
The station partnered with Gateway Clipper Fleet for “Tailgating with WTAE” so Steeler fans can boat their way to the game without traffic.
Gateway Clipper Fleet will donate 25% of the tickets sold to Project Hunger – a WTAE initiative to eliminate hunger in southwestern Pennsylvania.
“Gateway Clipper Fleet has also served the community since 1958,” says Wolfertz. “It was important to both of us, to use this cruise and give back to that community with donations to Project Hunger.”
