WTAE’s Chronicle: Pittsburgh After Dark, explores what happens when the sun goes down in the Steel City.
Chronicle: Pittsburgh After Dark, airs on the Hearst ABC affiliate at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, and again on Cozi on March 31 at 5 p.m.
This hour-long documentary includes inside looks at the Pittsburghers whose days begin while you’re drifting off to sleep. From the life-saving efforts inside local hospitals to the people who repair the city’s roads overnight, you will see critical jobs that require round the clock work.
Also, this edition of Chronicle looks at the fun side of the latenight hours in Pittsburgh, from after-dark activities you may not have heard about at local hot spots to a generations-old tradition being kept alive inr to the town.
“In America’s hardest working city, the work doesn’t stop just because it gets dark,” says Charles W. Wolfertz III, WTAE’s GM. “This edition of Chronicle will examine a workforce in Pittsburgh that keeps our city’s progress moving forward when many of us are asleep.”
This show also examines those dedicated to working out to stay fit in the early morning hours and those who get up long before the sun rises to make sure that your coffee and bagels are ready when you hit the drive-thru on your way to work.
“Most Pittsburghers are not aware of the many things that happen while most of us are sleeping,” says Baylor Long, WTAE’s news director. “In this episode, the Chronicle team shines a light on the people of Western Pennsylvania who are out there getting the job done day or night to keep the city and region running.”
