Barbara Beresford has taken over the reins as creative services director at Hearst’s WPBF (ABC 25) in West Palm Beach, Fla.
Barbara Beresford has taken over the reins as creative services director at Hearst’s WPBF (ABC 25) in West Palm Beach, Fla. Her first day was Monday, April 15.
For the past three years, Beresford was the CSD at KOLR 10 and Fox 49, Nexstar’s CBS and Fox affiliates in Springfield, Mo.
Beresford says she wasn’t looking for another job. “Creative services director jobs rarely open up at Hearst. I know what a great company it is, so I was excited when I saw the opportunity.”
While at KOLR, Beresford’s team won the 2022 Promax Gold Award for Weather Image and an Emmy Award for Best News Image campaign.
“I have nothing but great things to say about my time at Nexstar and am thrilled to be continuing my career at WPBF ABC 25 with Hearst,” Beresford says.
Beresford, a graduate from The Rhode Island School of Design, one of the top art schools in the country, began her career as a broadcast designer at NBC’s Dateline and ABC’s 20/20 in New York. That led to her position as art director at Walt Disney Imagineering, the research and design arm of The Walt Disney Co. Beresford’s career has included leading marketing efforts at stations in Jacksonville, Boston, Las Vegas and Providence, R.I.
Beresford says even though she’s been at WPBF for only a few weeks, “It’s a great group of people, everybody has been really welcoming. I’m looking forward to promoting the No. 1 news and weather station in the Palm Beaches and the Treasure Coast.”
