WSLS, Graham Media Group’s NBC affiliate in Roanoke, Va., has tapped Burt Spangler to be its new creative services director.

It’s not easy for local TV stations to broadcast its newscasts outside the station’s usual studio. But that’s exactly what WSLS, Graham Media’s NBC affiliate in Roanoke, Virginia will be doing every other Friday starting in May and ending in November in a new initiative called, WSLS 10 In Your Town.

Perhaps a significant step toward real equality could begin with televised dialogues, conversations, interactions and discussions so racial inequality gets exposed to thousands of people in communities all over the U.S., and a path to equality begins to emerge.

Coronavirus: A Community Conversation, an hour-long, live panel discussion airs tonight at 7 on Roanoke, Va.’s WDBJ, WFXR, WSET and WSLS as well as WFIR-AM-FM and WVTF-FM.
