KSBW, Hearst’s NBC and ABC affiliates in Salinas, Calif., held a one-day fundraiser with the Salvation Army on Dec. 8, the 37th annual KSBW Share Your Holiday. The broadcast and online fundraiser raised $213,515 in total cash donations.
The annual event helps Central Coast residents enjoy a happier holiday season with financial donations going toward food, clothing, rent assistance and toys for children. In addition to cash donations the event collected 3,262 toys and 3,679 pounds of food.
“With individuals and families on the Central Coast facing tough times during the holidays, KSBW’s partnership with the Salvation Army is an important piece that helps lift up others each year,” says Laura Williamson, KSBW general manager. “We are so thankful for our community’s efforts to take care of those in need and are grateful for their generosity.”
KSBW’s 37th annual Share Your Holiday fundraiser benefiting the Salvation Army was the station’s third largest in station history.
