WLWT’s creatives needed a space they could take over to create a holiday setting. With a little imagination and a good decorator, they made it work.
Pete Salkowski, creative services director at Hearst’s NBC affiliate in Cincinnati, WLWT, “wanted to capture authentic and unscripted fun moments with our anchors during our promo shoots with them, asking them random and relatable holiday questions in a relaxed, casual setting.”
That casual setting set the station back $150.
Salkowski says they grabbed a corner of open office space, covered the walls with inexpensive peel and stick wallpaper, other decorations and a metal sign that was repainted and covered with letters and decorations.
“Special shout-out to our promo producer Maddie Moores who wrote the questions, was lead decorator and edited all of the promos from the three-camera shoot — she had a lot of great material to work with which did not make her editing job easy,” Salkowski says.
