Crystal Martinez joins WDAF, Fox4, Nexstar’s Fox affiliate in Kansas City, as the station’s 4 p.m. anchor starting March 25.
Martinez comes to FOX4 from KNWA, Nexstar’s NBC affiliate in Fayetteville, Ark., where she was a morning anchor. She has also worked at KXII in Ardmore, Okla.
“Crystal’s experience and personality, alongside Loren Halifax, make her a perfect match for the show,” says Tracy Brogden Miller, WDAF’s GM.
“I’m excited to introduce Crystal to Kansas City and our loyal viewers,” Halifax says. “We both love yoga, hiking, exploring local restaurants and shops and, most importantly, serving the community,”
Martinez graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of North Texas.
Since its launch in June 2022, FOX4 News at 4PM has been Kansas City’s most-watched news program at that hour. The show includes segments like “Saving Smart,” featuring money-saving deals and gas prices in the KC Metro, “Health Headlines,” a community calendar, “Top 4 at 4,” and “Working for You” stories.
As the November election approaches, the show will also provide special reports from the campaign trail.
