WGN Morning News is Chicago’s top-rated morning program, it airs for six hours from 4 until 10 a.m. That’s a Herculean task on one day, let alone five days a week.
So doing just a two-hour live special tomorrow night from 7 until 9 should be simple, right?
Larry Potash and Robin Baumgarten are the main anchors on WGN Morning News. But they’re supported by an ensemble “cast of thousands,” according to a presser.
And for one night only, (unless it’s a huge success), the WGN Morning News team will present a two-hour, live, primetime special tomorrow night starting at 7.

The WGN Morning News Primetime Special will join fans at a listening party for a new Smashing Pumpkins album, the first Smashing Pumpkins album in 18 years to feature founding members of the band.
The WGN Morning News Primetime Special will also feature MMA fighter and former wrestler CM Punk, a military tank that will be used for a unique experience, a Superfan Flyover in Skycam 9 (weather permitting), a gender reveal party for the baby of WGN Morning News anchor Lauren Jiggetts and traffic reporter Sarah Jindra, and a few other surprises.
