KTVA, Anchorage’s CBS affiliate owned by Denali Media, was awarded 8 Goldie Awards by the Alaska Broadcasting Association. “Reporting the truth to Alaskans is at the core of what we do, and it’s nice to be recognized for that effort,” said Janis Harper, KTVA’s news director.
KTVA, Anchorage’s CBS affiliate owned by Denali Media, was awarded eight Goldie Awards by the Alaska Broadcasters Association. In addition to those honors, KTVA reporter Daniella Rivera was also recognized as Broadcaster of the Year.
“Being a journalist here is far more than just a job — we do this because Alaskans have stories to tell,” said Rivera.
“They deserve truth, facts, and good journalism, and it is truly a privilege to be a part of that in Alaska.”

Best Sports Play-by-Play (Men’s Mt. Marathon)
Best Station-Originated Community Service Project (Voices of Alaska: Opioid Epidemic)
Best Uniquely Alaskan Program (Iditarod Finish)
Best Weathercast (Daybreak, Melissa Frey; March 14, 2018)
KTVA also won for Best Breaking News Story (Windstorm in Anchorage) and Best Public Affairs Program (Frontiers).
