A family struggling to heal after losing a daughter in a car crash was surprised with a free car on live TV during the morning news Tuesday on Fox O&O WTTG Washington.
“Everyday is a struggle,” said Olivia Parkman. “Every day I just get up, and I think what I have to live for, which are my boys. And to try to remember that my daughter, this is what my daughter would want me to do — to keep living my life and being there for her brothers.”
The family has been without a car since theirs was totaled in the accident, and when they tried to get bereavement counseling, and shared that they had no car, the organization, Capital Caring, reached out to donors to help.
That appeal reached WTTG and its Pay It Forward partner, Easterns Automotive Group, which gave the family a car plus signed footballs and basketballs, along with tickets to this weekend’s Redskins and Wizards games.
