7 Can Help’s Giving Wednesday continues April 8 with Share Omaha, followed by the Omaha Community Foundation’s COVID-19 Response Fund on April 15, and a Red Cross blood drive sign-up on April 22.
“As children, families, and seniors across the Heartland continue to struggle with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, many find themselves in the unfamiliar position of seeking emergency food assistance,” said Brian Barks, Food Bank for the Heartland’s president.
“Funds raised from this campaign will allow the Food Bank to purchase critical food for our neighbors who are struggling. Food Bank for the Heartland is working swiftly with our partners across Nebraska and Western Iowa to offer resources as the need for help continues to rise.”
“When we find ways to give and connect with those in need, it not only lifts our spirits, it brings us back to our center, reminding us of who we are,” said Ariel Roblin, KETV’s general manager.
“As a local broadcaster we’re committed to connecting our community change-makers with those in need,” Roblin added. “Future Giving Wednesday’s will focus on volunteering and other ways people can make donations.”
