(DMA 27), is partnering with the United Way of the Greater Triangle for a virtual telethon today to support local nonprofits providing critical resources including food, hygiene supplies, childcare and housing support for residents throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
Funds raised go directly to United Way of the Greater Triangle’s Rapid Response Fund.

Joining in this fundraising effort are other Capitol Broadcasting properties WRAZ, Raleigh’s Fox affiliate; WRAL.com; WRAL-FM; WCMC-FM; and WBEN-FM, and the Durham Bulls Minor League Baseball team.
“Prior to this crisis, more than 200,000 people in the Triangle were experiencing poverty and we expect that number to increase significantly,” said Eric Guckian, president and CEO of United Way of the Greater Triangle.
“That’s just the tip of the iceberg. We’re proud to join WRAL for this virtual telethon. Every donation makes a difference.”
