WVUE’s Chief Investigator and news anchor Lee Zurik and his investigative team earned two national Edward R. Murrow Awards for 2018, the 14th time in the last eight years the station has been recognized with this honor.
WVUE is Raycom’s Fox affiliate in New Orleans; its investigative team consists of Lee Zurik, Mikel Schaefer, Jon Turnipseed, Tom Wright and Greg Phillips.
WVUE earned a national Murrow Award in the Continuing Coverage category for Small Market Television stations for its collaboration with NOLA.com/The Times Picayune for the series Cracking the Code.
This ongoing investigative series examined the rising cost of healthcare and navigating the tricky landscape of medical pricing.

WVUE also earned a national Murrow Award in the Investigative Reporting category for its year-long series State of Unrest which investigated the Louisiana State Police’s LACE Program.
As a result of Zurik’s investigation, four Louisiana State Troopers have been charged with multiple crimes and the LACE Program has been discontinued.
“These investigations, and their impactful results resonated throughout our community and continue to affect change to this day,” said said Tim Ingram, WVUE’s general manager.
