WSFL, Tribune’s CW affiliate in Miami, created such a highly creative spot promoting The Goldbergs that multiple Tribune stations also ran the spot in their markets, says Ardis Gonzalez Leon, the station’s creative services director.
“I challenged the team to come up with something for The Goldbergs that would really pop, a thumbstopper. That’s when our senior producer Bob Evorik came up with a Mortal Kombat-esque spoof concept. You could imagine my reaction. But I wanted to see where he would go with it.”
