Chronicle: Pittsburgh’s Holiday Traditions highlights the remarkable ways the holidays come alive for families in western Pennsylvania. The hour-long program follows the old customs, new traditions and hidden celebrations of the season.
The primetime special Chronicle: Pittsburgh’s Holiday Traditions will air on Hearst’s ABC affiliate WTAE on Friday night at 9.
Chronicle host Sally Wiggin explores Pittsburgh’s Golden Triangle as thousands pack the streets to kick off the holiday season. The special follows families of faith as they celebrate the sacred traditions they love. And viewers will explore a secret holiday castle, where Pittsburgh’s traditions of the past are brought back to life.
“Pittsburgh’s diverse cultures and traditions flourish during the holidays,” said Charles W. Wolfertz III, WTAE’s general manager. “We hope the celebrations in this special warm the hearts of families this season.”
This special also marks Sally Wiggin’s last appearance as the Chronicle host following her retirement on Nov. 30.
“It has been an absolute honor to host Chronicle and explore topics that touch so many lives,” said Wiggin. “I am grateful to the people of Pittsburgh for embracing me on this incredible journey.”
