On Monday, Gray’s CBS affiliate WBTV Charlotte, N.C., introduces a new-look morning lifestyle show, QC Morning, a rebrand of Morning Break.
Then at 3 o’clock, WBTV begins QC @ 3 weekdays ahead of WBTV News First at Four.
Both shows fall under the umbrella, QC Life, a multiplatform lifestyle brand that seeks to educate, empower, engage and entertain audiences throughout the Carolinas.
The QC stands for Queen City, Charlotte’s longstanding nickname. However, the content goals extend far beyond Charlotte’s metropolitan limits as the shows recognize the loyalty of its audience throughout the rural communities in WBTV’s market area.
“We are really excited to bring more local content to the Charlotte marketplace,” said Scott Dempsey, WBTV’s general manager.
“We expect nothing but success in the afternoon slot based on the audience response we’ve seen to our weekday morning efforts.”
Veteran host Kristen Miranda will anchor both shows, as well as assuming managing editor authority over all QC Life content. Broadcast journalist and professor Cheryl Brayboy joins Miranda in the afternoons, while new WBTV First Alert Weather meteorologist Jonathan Stacey is set to co-host QC Morning each day.
