WESH and the American Red Cross of Central Florida are holding a disaster relief telethon today to raise funds to benefit all of those in the Florida panhandle impacted by Hurricane Michael. “We want to make sure the victims and families impacted by this disaster know they have the support of Central Florida in this time of healing and rebuilding,” said John R. Soapes, WESH’s general manager.
Mexico Beach, Fla., experienced widespread destruction from Hurricane Michael, the likes of which hasn’t been seen in the state since Hurricane Andrew in 1992.

So WESH, the Hearst NBC affiliate in Orlando, and the American Red Cross of Central Florida, are holding a disaster relief telethon today to raise funds to benefit all of those in the Florida panhandle impacted by Hurricane Michael.
Donations will be accepted through a phone bank hosted by WESH talent and Red Cross volunteers.
WESH will provide live cut-ins from the phone bank throughout the day and provide coverage during newscasts asking for donations. Central Florida viewers can donate by calling 407-830-9374 or logging on to WESH.com.
